Swansea Marina Boules Event

Saturday the 30th of May was a beautiful sunny day for an outdoor event!  The Gwalia Singers were delighted to be invited to a popular Swansea Marina Event in its seventh year.

The competition started early morning drawing crowds of spectators to the Dylan Thomas Square area across the Pump House bridge, seaside. The boules playing was very interesting and intense, and continued all day!

The Gwalia Singers lined up late afternoon under the canopy while the boules competition was in the final stages, there was great excitement!

The Choir’s repertoire was much appreciated-but background music to an on-going event!  The Choir sang a mixed repertoire of ‘Let All Men Sing’, ‘Calon Lân’ etc to the jovial ‘Five Foot Two’-and delighted the crowd with a new rendition of ‘Fix It’. The event concluded with a winning boules team and a rendition of ‘Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau’.

An ideal opportunity then for the Choristers to visit some Marina watering holes to quench their thirst on a lovely summer evening!
